Borrowed Fly makes the rental experience hassle-free by delivering everything you need directly to your home, hotel, or vacation rental. No more waiting at the fly shop, or fishing within their schedule. Renting through Borrowed Fly will save you time and money. Our complete outfits include everything you need to go directly to the river and start fishing!

Confirm your reservation
After reserving your gear, we will contact you to confirm your reservation and verify we have the correct setup for your trip.
This ensures your gear will be delivered with out issue.

Get fishing
Our outfits will have all the accessories you need to get fishing along with 12 base flies to get you going. Use what you need, and return the rest.

Reserve your gear online
Find the outfit that meets your needs and reserve it directly on the site. Select the date you will start using the gear, we make sure to ship it in advance, and the date you plan to return it.

Gear is shipped
Prior to your start date, we will send all shipping information and ship your gear in advance with a few-day buffer to ensure your gear arrives before your reservation date.
If delivering to a hotel, vacation rental, or RV park, we will contact them to ensure the hold the package for you.

Return your gear
A pre-paid FedEx return label and tape will be included to package your outfit and return it.
Drop off at any FedEx or Walgreens location on your return date to complete your rental.

Once received, we will check the gear for any damage and give it a good cleaning to keep it in like new condition.

What's included with my rental?Free delivery to the south Denver and Colorado Spring area. If shipping outside the delivery area, there is a $25 fee to ship to your chosen location and return the gear. Our complete outfits come with a fully loaded pack with all the accessories you need to get fishing. Leaders, tippet, floatant, indicators, split shot, forceps, and a net. Use what you need out of the pack, and return what you don't. A selection of flies for the area you plan to fish.

Where do you ship to?We ship anywhere in the lower 48 to any address accepting FedEx shipments.

Do you ship to hotels, vacation rentals, or RV parks?Yes, we can ship to any location as long as they can receive and hold a package from FedEx. If shipping to a vacation rental, contact the property owner before reserving to ensure they have an address where the package can be delivered and held for a few days if needed. Rentals are shipped in advance, and we want the package to be secured for an extended time to minimize the risk that a pack is not received. Hotels and RV parks typically have a front office that will receive and hold the package until your arrival. We will contact the front office in advance so they know to hold the package.

What if I have issues with my reservation?Contact us with any issues, and we will work with you to make it right. We make our best effort to contact you before shipping your rental to ensure we have everything right and prevent any issues from arising. Deliveries can be delayed, so we ship our rentals out with a few-day buffer to account for any possible delays. If your shipment is delayed past your start date, we will refund you a % for missed days.

What is your cancelation policy?We will refund 100% of the reservation if canceled more than 14 days before your start date. After 14 days before we ship, we will refund only 75% of your reservation. If we have shipped your rental, typically 4-6 days before your reservation, we cannot cancel your reservation or offer a refund.

What if I want to extend my trip?Well, then, you must have found the fish! Contact us, and as long as we don't have a conflicting reservation, we will happily extend your reservation, and only change for the additional days you want to extend.

What if the gear gets dirty or damaged after use?We will clean all gear upon return, free of charge, as long as it is considered normal wear and tear. In instances where the product has been damaged to the point we deem it can not be re-rented, we reserve the right to change a repair or replacement fee. If a rod is broken, our vendor Mystic Rods has a set $50 repair fee you will be assessed.

What if I'm late returning my gear?If we consider the return to be unreasonably late, not scanned at a FedEx location more than a day after the reservation end date, we may charge a fee. Typically, this will be charged for the additional day rate for each day late. If the return label is not scanned at a FedEx location and the gear is not returned within 5 days of your end date, the credit card used for the reservation will be charged for the full replacement of the gear.
